  • Purdue Volleyball held their annual "Dig for a Cure" match on October 28th as they took on Michigan.  The team wore special pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness and cancer research.  The first 500 fans (+500 students) received a free pink t-shirt.
  • Purdue Women's Club 20|30 in collaboration with the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research and McGraw's Steak Chop and Fish House presented a special Hammer Down Cancer luncheon on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Every dollar from the luncheon proceeds supports the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research - an Institute celebrating it's 38th year this year in making a difference with basic cancer research!
  • Hammer Down Cancer Women's Soccer Game was held on September 25th at 1 pm at Folk Field, Boilermaker Soccer Complex.  Purdue Soccer auctioned off team jerseys with all proceeds going to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • The Purdue Center for Cancer Research sponsored their annual Hammer Down Cancer football game as Purdue took on Nevada on September 24th at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette to help raise awareness in the fight against cancer.  Visit the Hammer Down Cancer web page for more details.  Boiler Up and Hammer Down Cancer!
  • WERQ to Hammer Down Cancer was held on September 22nd at 7:30 pm at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center.  This event is part of Hammer Down Cancer week to raise awareness of cancer research at Purdue.
  • The 5th Annual IBCN Barnyard Bash was held on Sunday, September 18th at the Wea Creek Orchard in Lafayette.  This event raised funds for the International Breast Cancer and Nutrition program at Purdue University to benefit breast cancer prevention research.
  • The 7th annual Wine Country Road Rally was held on Saturday, August 6th at the Chateau Thomas Winery in Plainfield, IN from 10 am to 5:30 pm.  Proceeds from the event benefited pancreatic cancer research at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.  Visit www.janethansenfund.org for further details.
  • On July 9th, The Moundbuilders hosted their N8 Fest II annual fundraiser in memory of guitarist Nate Malher at Jerilee's Pub at Market Square Lanes.  Part of the proceeds raised benefitted the Purdue Center for Cancer Research. Visit their Facebook event for more details.
  • On June 29th, Purdue University hosted a Cancer Moonshot SummitOur Cancer Moonshot Summit featured remarks from Center for Cancer Research Director, Dr. Tim Ratliff; an update of current innovative and groundbreaking research from several of our researchers; an opportunity to interact with our researchers and others from Purdue University.
  • June 4th was the Annual Indiana Elks Spring Convention in Indianapolis.  Purdue Center for Cancer Research member Dr. Jenna Rickus was a featured speaker.
  • June 1st was the Purdue Club of North/Northwest Suburbs of Chicago annual celebration at Broken Earth Winery in Long Grove, IL.  The guest speaker was Dr. Tim Ratliff, Robert Wallace Miller Director, Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • May 18th: Professor Xiaoqui Liu received the 2016 Lafayette Lions Club Award for outstanding achievements in cancer research at the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research.  The Lions have supported the Center researchers with this award since 1978.
  • May 14th was the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association 5K in Logansport, IN.  Proceeds were donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • May 13th was the Purdue Alumni Club of Mid-Michigan Annual Spring Dinner in Midland, Michigan.  Purdue Center for Cancer Research Director, Dr. Tim Ratliff, was the featured speaker.  Dr. Ratliff will speak about the latest discoveries and innovative ideas in cancer research happening at the Center.
  • May 7th was the Purdue Softball Strike Out Cancer Game at 1 pm vs. Northwestern at Boilermaker Softball Stadium.  Those who have battled all types of cancer were honored and represented during the game.  Fans who donated $10 or more received an exclusive Softball Hammer Down Cancer t-shirt!  Proceeds benefited the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • April 27th was Purdue Day of GivingWe raised over $89,000 in one day for cancer research here at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research!  Thanks to all who supported us.
  • April 27th was PCCR Giveback Day at Chipotle W. Lafayette.  50% of all sales between 5 and 8 pm were donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • April 24th was the Purdue Women's Tennis Hammer Down Cancer Match at 2 pm (vs. Ohio State) at the Schwartz Tennis Center.  The team did a tennis ball toss between doubles and singles. Fans had the opportunity to purchase tennis balls (for $1 each) that they could then toss into a tub on the court to win prizes.  Proceeds went to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • April 16th was The Challenge 5K Walk/Run. We had a record number of participants this year with over 1800 participants in the race to support cancer research at Purdue!
  • April 10th was PCCR Giveback Day at School House of Chili, Noon to 10 pm. A portion of all sales that day was donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • April 5th was the  PCCR Giveback Evening at Nine Irish Brothers - Lafayette from 5-10 pm. 10% of food sales was donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • March 29th was Arni's PCCR Giveback evening at Arni's Market Square in Lafayette, 5-9 pm.  20% of food sales was donated to The Purdue Center for Cancer Research.  Flyer.
  • March 25th was PCCR Giveback Day at Panda Express in West Lafayette from 4-11 pm. Flyer.
  • PCCR Giveback day was held on March 3rd at Puccini's in West Lafayette.  20% of all sales were donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • On February 26th Zeta Tau Alpha presented Big Man on CampusThe event raised $138,980 for breast cancer research and education.  A portion of the funds went to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.  Center Deputy Director, Dr. Andy Mesecar, was the keynote speaker.
  • On February 19th Purdue wrestling hosted their Hammer Down Cancer meet at 7:00 pm.  Purdue wrestlers wore special gray & yellow singlets which were auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • On January 21st Purdue men's basketball hosted Ohio State for the Hammer Down Cancer gameSpecial FREE Hammer Down Cancer t-shirts were given to all fans who attended to honor all cancer survivors and to support cancer research.
  • The Hot Box skip a meal was held on January 17th at Hot Box in West Lafayette.  20% of all sales were donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • On January 14th the Neon Cactus in West Lafayette hosted a night of games and fun for the Hammer Down Cancer Cactus Night.  "Piano Man" Bruce Barker hosted a donation hour from 9-10 pm and money for song requests were donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.

  • Jenny Pickett and Robin Walsh hosted the Annual Jordan-Rieger Event on November 1st at The Bridgewater Club in Carmel, IN.  All proceeds from this event support pancreatic cancer research at The Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • On October 29th, the Purdue Volleyball team held their 1st annual "Dig for a Cure" event to raise money for breast cancer research at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • The Purdue Women's Soccer team held their "Boot Cancer" night on October 25th.  Limited edition pink jerseys were auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer research at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • In support of cancer research at Purdue and in honor of cancer survivors, the Purdue football players wore special neon yellow logos on their helmets in the Hammer Down Cancer Game on October 11th.  The Hammer Down Cancer game supports the Center's work to cure cancer and to honor cancer survivors.
  • Dr. Andy Mesecar, Deputy Director of the Purdue Center for Cancer Research spoke to the Purdue Womens 20|30 Club for Hammer Down Cancer on October 9th.  Proceeds from this event help support cancer research at Purdue.
  • The Purdue Club of North/Northwest Suburbs of Chicago hosted Purdue Center for Cancer Research Deputy Director Dr. Andy Mesecar on October 7th in Glenview, IL.  Dr. Mesecar spoke about the latest happenings in cancer research here at the Center for Cancer Research.
  • Kathleen L. McCann, a member of the Center for Cancer Research Director's Advisory Board, hosted "All Aboard for Discovery Cures" on October 5th at D&J Bistro in Lake Zurich, IL.  Proceeds from the event support innovative research at the Center for Cancer Research.
  • Dr. Andy Mesecar, Deputy Director of the Purdue Center for Cancer Research, spoke at "Science on Tap" at Lafayette Brewery Company on September 25th.
  • The 5th annual Janet Hansen Fund Edinburgh Wine Country Road Rally was held on August 10th.  Funds raised support cancer research at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research.
  • Director's Advisory Board member Marti Schmidt hosted a lunch on June 22nd at Cooper's Hawk Restaurant in Naperville, IL.  Purdue Center for Cancer Research Director Dr. Tim Ratliff spoke about the latest happenings at the Center for Cancer Research.
